AMC Apologizes For Seating Incident With Civil Rights Leader

Last month civil rights leader Rev. William Barber II brought his own chair to the AMC movie theater to watch "The Color Purple" with his 90-year-old mother. Barber, a minister of Greenleaf Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Goldsboro, suffers from ankylosing spondylitis, which is an inflammatory disease, which is why he cannot sit in chairs close to the floor due to his bad hip. He needs two canes to walk and carries the chair with him at all times, and said he never has been anywhere that didn't allow him to use his own chair. He said he placed the chair in a section specifically designated for those with disabilities. According to Barber, theater employees had safety concerns about the chair's placement, and threatened him with trespassing charges when he refused to leave, before having him escorted out by the police. "The managers of the AMC theater here in Greenville chose to call the police rather than accommodate my visible disability," said Barber.

Since then AMC sent out a statement: “We sincerely apologize to Bishop Barber for how he was treated, and for the frustration and inconvenience brought to him, his family, and his guests. AMC’s Chairman and CEO Adam Aron has already telephoned him, and plans to meet with him in person in Greenville, NC, next week to discuss both this situation and the good works Bishop Barber is engaged in throughout the years. AMC welcomes guests with disabilities. We have a number of accommodations in place at our theaters at all times, and our theatre teams work hard to accommodate guests who have needs that fall outside of the normal course of business. We encourage guests who require special seating to speak with a manager in advance to see what can best be accommodated at the theater to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for the guest and those around them. We are also reviewing our policies with our theater teams to help ensure that situations like this do not occur again.”

How Our Exclusive In-House Analysts Are Trading $AMC

$AMC

“Good morning traders, I find myself sitting on the back porch at 4pm every day wondering when I will take a glimpse at the end-of-day stock price for $AMC and finally see it green. Will the AMC apes hustle and make every degens dreams come true, or will AMC be another blockbuster failure story I tell my kids about 10 years from now? Time will tell. Looking at the chart for AMC, on the daily timeframe we are super oversold, RSI sitting at a miserable 18, and the stock price finding another all-time low today. If I was a betting man, I could see AMC dropping lower and lower while they decide to dilute / raise funds to extend their all but final destination to zero! BUT I will provide a long trade idea and also a short trade idea, I want to stay fair to all traders out there.

Bullish play: If you’re a catfish and love to feed from the bottom of the ocean (this being the market), I would like AMC to close above $4.35 and hold for a few days, once I see that, I will add and target $4.70 then $5+ short term. Basically, looking for a pop out of the oversold territory.

Bearish Play: I personally will look to add into the continued selling pressure, maybe adding now is not a bad idea with a stop loss in place at $4.35, targeting the $3s soon! Remember these trade ideas are for Entertainment and Education Purpose Only" -Mad Maverick

The key levels are $3.85, $2.30, and $1.09. What Jay is doing is watching for a break below one of these levels, followed by a 4H or 1H candle close back above. So if the price breaks below $3.85 and keeps going down, the next level we are watching would be $2.30.

Option 1: Bullish
Entry: Watch for price to break below $3.85. Then watch for a 1H or 4H candlestick close above that same price level for entry.
Target: $4.20+ (noice)
Stop Loss: The low that was made when the price initially broke below $3.85

Option 2: Bullish
Entry: Watch for price to break below $2.30. Then watch for a 1H or 4H candlestick close above that same price level for entry.
Target: $2.50, $2.74, $3, $3.84+
Stop Loss: The low that was made when the price initially broke below $2.30

Option 3: Bullish
Entry: Watch for price to break below $1.09. Then watch for a 1H or 4H candlestick close above that same price level for entry.
Target: $1.19, $1.29, $2, $2.30+
Stop Loss: The low that was made when the price initially broke below $1.09

Another option would be to wait for the price to break below $3.85, $2.30, and $1.09. Then waiting for that level that got broken to be tested and confirmed as a new resistance, for a short entry. Playing it down until a long entry criteria is hit.
