Meet Our Day Trading Coach: Ethan
Hey traders, my name is Ethan and I am one of the coaches here at Pennybois. I'm a college student at Texas A&M, currently a junior finance major at the Mays Business School. I also am the president of the Aggie Traders Club here where I teach and collaborate with students interested in the stock market and trading. I have been trading since the young age of 15 and haven't stopped since, along with interning on a trading floor called Kershner Trading Group in Austin Texas the last 3 years. I have gone through many highs and lows in my first years of trading and my goal is to help expedite your learning curve by teaching you and helping you create a strategy that works for you along with helping you steer clear of the most common mistakes rookie traders make. Age, race, background, education, etc are things the stock market doesn’t care about. As long as you have the right team and determination to learn I am confident I can help assist you to positive growth as a trader if you are willing to put the work in with me.
The strategy that I will be teaching and live trading with you will be more focused around options day trading. I am a momentum based trader that relies on reading price action and taking advantage of quick and high probable moves that the stock market gives us. I tend to focus on the mega cap names like Tesla, Apple, Amazon, Nvidia, etc. These offer great liquidity and enough volatility to allow us to capture small moves that are worth playing. I tend to stick to break out or break down trading. Meaning I wait around for a catalyst or specific patterns that make these big names have a strong move either up or down. I will very rarely trade reversals for reasons I will go in depth for in my training with you. I tend to only need to trade the first hour of the market open and then move on with my day which offers lots of freedom to do the normal day to day activities.
I have been teaching this stuff for a few years and take the approach of wanting to teach you how I would have liked to have been taught. Anyone can show up and text you they are buying a stock or tell you briefly what they do, but not many people walk you through second by second of their trades LIVE over the mic as they share their screen. I value transparency a lot in this game, and have been everywhere from the shadiest of chatrooms to a place as transparent as Pennybois which is one of the driving factors for me to want to work with this team.
