  • Cons: Limited investment options (no futures, bonds), some research limitations, customer service can be slow.

Robinhood

  • Pros: Free stock and ETF trades, simple and user-friendly app, fractional shares.
  • Cons: Limited investment options (no futures, bonds), limited research tools, potential for price improvement issues.

Thinkorswim (TD Ameritrade)

  • Pros: Powerful trading platform with advanced tools, excellent charting, paper trading, commission-free stock and ETF trades.
  • Cons: Requires a minimum deposit, complex interface can be overwhelming for beginners, no fractional shares.

Interactive Brokers (IBKR)

  • Pros: Wide range of investment options (stocks, options, futures, forex), advanced order types, global platform, good research tools.
  • Cons: High commissions for low-volume traders, complex interface, requires experience.

TradingView

  • Pros: Excellent charting with advanced technical indicators, paper trading, social networking features (connect with other traders). Can be integrated with some brokers for direct trading.
  • Cons: Not a brokerage itself, requires separate account with another broker, some features require paid subscription.

Additional Considerations:

  • Experience Level: Beginners may find Robinhood or Webull easier to use, while experienced traders might prefer Thinkorswim or IBKR.
  • Investment Focus: Consider the types of investments you want to trade before choosing a platform.
  • Fees: Compare commission structures and account minimums before opening an account.

  • Cons: Not a guarantee of successful trades, requires understanding of the filters used, some screeners offer limited customization.

Free Trading Sites (like Investopedia)

  • Type: Educational Resources

Additional Notes:

  • Combine Screeners with Research: Don't solely rely on screener results, conduct further research before making investment decisions.
  • Free vs. Paid Screeners: Free screeners offer basic functionality, paid versions may offer more filters and data.
  • Supplement Education with Practice: Use paper trading accounts offered by some platforms to practice your skills before investing real money.
